Technology Overview

Purpose-built monitoring devices, a central operating platform, and the connectivity and security that support lawful, auditable supervision.

Devices

Purpose-built monitoring devices

Two form factors suit different supervision needs: a tamper-resistant GPS ankle device for secure, continuous supervision, and a more discreet GPS wearable as a lower-stigma alternative that supports engagement and reintegration.

Straps are reinforced with an internal metal layer beneath a skin-safe, medical-grade outer and secured with a dedicated locking mechanism — any attempt to cut or remove the device triggers an immediate tamper alert. Positioning combines satellite (GPS/GNSS) with Wi-Fi and cellular network location for reliable tracking indoors and out.

Capabilities

What the devices do

  • GeofencingInclusion and exclusion zones with automatic entry and exit alerts.
  • Curfew MonitoringConfirmation of presence at an approved address during set hours.
  • Tamper & Removal AlertsInstant alarm if a device is cut, forced or removed.
  • SOS & MessagingEmergency button with two-way voice and text communication.
  • Configurable ReportingAdjustable location-reporting intervals to match the supervision mode.
  • Status & Battery AlertsProactive low-battery and device-status notifications to keep coverage continuous.
Operating Platform

The software that runs it

A central monitoring platform gives authorised operators real-time location, movement-history replay on digital maps, geofence and curfew management, and a live alert queue, with months of location history retained for compliance review. A companion mobile app supports remote check-ins and direct communication.

The platform can be delivered under the partner’s own brand and integrated with existing case-management and justice-sector systems through secure APIs — part of the turnkey delivery set out in our implementation model.

Connectivity

Built for resilient coverage

Reliable connectivity underpins effective monitoring. Track & Trace is designed to integrate with satellite connectivity — including Starlink — as a future integration, supporting resilient coverage in areas with limited cellular infrastructure and strengthening reliability across the monitoring network.

Security

Controlled access, encryption and audit

Data in transit is protected by SSL and encrypted at rest. Access is role-based and controlled, retention is disciplined, and every action is captured in a defensible audit trail — designed to align with recognised data-protection standards and the frameworks set out in governance & safeguards. The website itself does not operate devices or process offender data.
